International Halley Watch Astrometry Network Workshop
18-19 June 1984, ESO, Garching, Germany

In the run up to the much anticipated 2P/Halley apparition of 1985/86 the International Halley Watch (IHW) was formed to encourage and co-ordinate observations of the comet.

One of the seven observing disciplines set up by the IHW, the Astrometry Network had a meeting in Germany in June 1984 to discuss current techniques and make recommendations for making cometary astrometric observations, reducing the observations, employing accurate reference star catalogues and determining precise orbits and ephemerides.
