Eastfield (MPC Code 984)

Harold Ridley moved from Godalming (MPC code 994) to Eastfield in 1979 and the Eastfield observatory was in use until shortly before his death in 1995 (obituary). It contained a 15cm refractor used to guide a camera with a Zeiss 18cm f/7 lens.

Afterwards the house was sold to another astronomer and the dome at the original location is still visible in GoogleEarth images taken in April 2020.

This image, from 27 June 2018 gives the coordinates for Eastfield Observatory as:

Longitude 002 44' 23.00" W, latitude 50 55' 22.77" N, height 57 m
